The kids are gone, it’s time for some adult entertainment. Grab your blender and get creative with some adult blender drinks. While it’s fun to use your blender to make a smoothie or to make malts for the kids, a blender is also the perfect tool for making designer and fun cocktails. You’ve had them in your favorite bar, now you can easily make them at home.
Get A Blender Strong Enough To Handle Dense Fruits
If you are just going to mix vodka with orange juice, you don’t need a blender. But if you are going to make a drink with frozen orange slices and chunks of pineapple, you need a powerful blender. Make sure that your blender has a motor that is at least 300 watts. 500 watts is better, 700 watts will chop and blend just about anything.
Get A Blender Strong Enough To Crush Ice
Have you ever tried to crush ice with a hand held blender? It can’t be done. Have you ever tried to crush ice using a hammer? What a mess. The same principle of size comes into play if you are going to make any frozen cocktails. You will need ice, so you will need a blender that can crush ice properly. You want to make a great drink and your equipment will make a big difference in just how well that drink turns out.
Sex On The Beach
Half of the fun of this drink is just saying the name with a straight face. Frozen is the key to this drink. You want to use frozen peaches, not fresh, and you need to be able to crush ice properly. Let’s face it, we all love sex on the beach.
2 cups frozen sliced peaches
6 ounces vodka-best if kept in your freezer
3 ounces peach Schnapps-about 1/3 cup
6 ounces orange juice
6 ounces cranberry juice
2 cups of ice
Put all of the ingredients except the cranberry juice in your blender. Pulse until well mixed. Add more ice if you would like a slushier drink.
Pour cranberry juice into the bottoms of the glasses you will be using. Pour the blended mix on top.
Garnish with a cherry, a peach slice or an orange slice.
Classic Pina Colada
It’s tropical tasting, it’s sweet and it’s fun. A pina colada is also very easy to make with your blender. Your supermarket should have coconut cream. You can substitute half and half, but the drink won’t be as sweet or as rich in coconut taste.
3 ounces of rum-light rum is preferred but dark is fine.
3 ounces of pineapple juice
3 ounces of coconut cream
1 cup of ice
Blend all of the ingredients well. You can add more ice to make a denser drink.
Garnish with a cherry or pineapple.
